Kazo District Hands Over Three New School Construction Sites to Boost Education Infrastructure

Kazo District leadership has officially handed over three construction sites where new classroom blocks and related facilities will be built in a move aimed at improving education infrastructure across the district.

Led by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Hajji Badru Mayanja Majwala and the District Vice Chairperson Ntungire Fred, the team handed over sites at Kitengyeto, Akengyeya and Magondo primary schools.

At Kitengyeto Primary School, the district launched the construction of a two classroom block with a store and furniture, valued at Shs 140 million.

A similar project at Akengyeya Primary School which also includes an office, pit latrine and furniture will cost Shs 190 million.

Meanwhile, Magondo model Primary School is set to receive a two-classroom block worth Shs 104 million.

Grateful community members from the three schools applauded both the district and the government for bringing tangible development to their areas. They extended their appreciation to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for continually supporting education initiatives.

Project engineer Ainemuka Arnold assured leaders and residents that construction would progress quickly, emphasizing that some works are expected to be completed within four months as agreed. He asked Mugumya Engineering Limited to put much focus on quality work and strictly follow the approved designs and Bills of Quantities throughout the project.

The Senior Environmental Officer, Senyonga Twaibu, reminded both the community and contractors to safeguard the environment, avoid behaviors that could increase the spread of HIV/AIDS and plant trees to promote sustainability.

District Speaker Dan Nahurira Bwamunyoga, speaking at Kitengyeto Primary School, thanked parents for supporting government programs and urged them to continue rallying behind the NRM government and its leaders.

While handing over all three sites, CAO Hajji Badru Mayanja Majwala lauded parents for their commitment to their schools. He urged the contractor to deliver high-quality work within the agreed timelines and encouraged residents to cooperate with government initiatives to accelerate development.
Mayanja also extended special appreciation to retired Bishop Steven Namanya for championing development at Akengyeya Primary School.

Vice Chairperson Ntungire Fred representing the LC5 Chairperson, reaffirmed government’s commitment to improving service delivery. He encouraged the community to take good care of newly established facilities and maintain the peace and development brought by the current government. He further reminded contractors to pay their workers promptly.

Retired Bishop Steven Namanya, who played a key role in lobbying for Akengyeya Primary School, thanked the district and the government of Uganda for their continued support. He called on residents living near the school to cooperate with leaders and embrace development, pledging to continue contributing to progress in the area.
