President Fulfills Pledge: Rev. Katugunda Gets New Official Vehicle

The LC5 Chairman of Kazo District, Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda, has officially received a brand-new vehicle from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, following the President’s commitment to strengthen local governance across the country.

The handover was held at the Kazo District Headquarters today and it was witnessed by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the District Speaker, several district councilors and technical staff.

The Chief administrative officer for Kazo district Hajji Badru Mayanja Majwala, expressed gratitude to President Museveni for consistently fulfilling his pledges to local governments. He commended the President for prioritizing improved service delivery and supporting district leadership with essential tools.

Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda also thanked the President for his continued support, emphasizing that the new vehicle will enhance his capacity to monitor and supervise government programs across the district. He pledged to use the vehicle effectively to ensure improved oversight of ongoing development initiatives.

176 Local Government leaders across the country received brand new vehicles worth UGX 35.2 billion as fulfilment of the presidential pledge.

The nationwide handover took place on Friday, 31st October 2025, at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, where 135 District Chairpersons, 10 City Mayors and 31 Municipal Leaders received their vehicles.

This initiative is designed to boost supervision and monitoring of key government programs including the Road Fund, Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, Regional Development Programme (RDP), Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP), and the Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme (UWEP).
