The district reported that all eight sub-counties and two town councils surpassed the targeted coverage.

Kazo district Health Officer Dr. Edigar Kansiime said the district was among those that performed well nationally, attributing the achievement to the commitment of health workers and support from the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders.

Dr. Kansiime commended the health department and partners for mobilising parents and communities to ensure that eligible children were brought forward for vaccination.

The Chief Administrative Officer, Hajji Badru Mayanja Majwala, congratulated the health teams and other stakeholders for successfully completing the campaign, describing the achievement as an important milestone for the district.

Mayanja made the remarks during a senior management meeting, where he thanked the health teams for their efforts in ensuring that the immunization campaign reached its target and went beyond it.

The district political leadership, led by the LC5 Chairperson Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda, and the office of the Resident District commissioner led by Captain Yahaya Kakoza also played a role in mobilizing communities through public functions and radio broadcasts, including messages aired on 97.8 Kazo FM, encouraging parents to take their children for the Measles-Rubella vaccination.

Rev. Katugunda thanked health workers, development partners, local leaders and community members for their contribution towards ensuring that eligible children were reached during the campaign.

The 43,528 children vaccinated represent an additional 8,358 children above the district target, underscoring the district's strong mobilisation and community participation during the five-day exercise.
